Vitamin C is 100% ASCORBIC ACID (ASCORBATE). This is the form found in nature in fruits and vegetables and also in this product!
Other products use “Fat Soluble Vitamin C” like Ascorbyl Palmitate which is 45% VITAMIN C and is not natural, it is a SYNTHETIC food preservative.
Unlike most mammals and other animals, as human beings we cannot make Vitamin C – it must be obtained from food.
Small amounts of Vitamin C are needed to prevent oxidation damage to cells components like proteins, fats, carbohydrates and DNA. However during times of stress or chronic illness much higher levels of Vitamin C are needed.
Vitamin C is absorbed well up to 200 mg but higher doses have poor absorption. Higher doses of plain Vitamin C powder often cause stomach upset. The liposomal technology in this product increases Vitamin C absorption while at the same time avoiding the gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms of plain powder Vitamin C.
